To create a new Access Group, please follow the instructions below:
Open the Menu > Security > Security Control view and navigate to the Access Groups tab:
To add a new group, click on the [ Add ] button. This will add a new row on the group list:
Fill in the Group Id with a unique group Id value (e.g. Cleaning - Module Manager), then change the Description to a more meaningful name e.g.:
The Create, Amend, and Delete flags determine whether the Access Group have the ability to create new records, amend existing records, and delete existing records from the application views.
Assigning System Components to the Access Group
Once the Access Group is created, navigate to Access Group/Views tab, find the new group from the Group Id Lookup and select the group by double clicking or highlighting the row and click the [ Select ] button e.g.:
Once the Access Group has been selected, from the lookup should load the Group details on the form and load all the system module components on the Available list.
Give the Access Group system component permissions by using the DRAG and DROP method.
Use the Module Filter field at the top of the Available list to filter the components per module, in this example we'll filter by Cleaning module and give access to all the cleaning views and reports to the Cleaning - Module Manager group.
Multi-select the system components from Available list, hold the mouse down and drag them to the Selected list. Drop the components to the Selected list by releasing the mouse-press:
Once the components have been dropped into the Selected list, they should disappear from the Available list:
Giving a user the access group permissions
After creating a new Access Group, you may want to assign it to a staff record.
To do this, navigate to the Access Rights tab, select a Staff Id from the lookup, filter the Available list with Access Type = Groups:
Select the Access Group from the Available list, and DRAG and DROP the Cleaning Module Manager group to the Selected list:
