How does the system calculate the audit scores

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page Print this Topic

Each element in an audit will automatically add a score of 1 in the Total Available Score unless marked as Not Present.

Any element that gets a Pass score will add a score of 1 in the Total Achieved Score.

Therefore, the Total Overall Score of an audit is based on ALL the scored elements in the audited rooms.

For example, the room audit below has 14 elements with the following scores:

Pass = 11, Fail = 2, and Not Present = 1

Available Score (Total number of elements - Total number of Not Present elements): 13

Achieved Score (Total number of passed elements): 11

Room Audit

Therefore, the score for this room audit will be calculated using the formula below:

Achieved Score divided by Available Score multiplied by 100: (11 ÷ 13) × 100 = 84.62%

Room Audit - Score

The overall Audit Group Score will be calculated based on the formula above but summing all the room elements in the group.

The RAG colour and Star Rating are based on the overall score of the audit group.

For example, in a non-blended FR2 area, 5-star % is set to 95%, therefore the area will need to achieve an overall score of 95.00 – 100.0% to get a 5-star rating.

To achieve a 4-star rating, the overall score must be between 92.00 – 94.99% and so on.

For the responsible group score, each group are scored based on the elements that they are responsible for.

In the Element Export Report below, it shows which responsible groups are responsible for each element:

Element Export

If you look at the image above, you will see that Estates is only responsible for Element IDs 8, 9, 10, 19, 23, and 41. This means in an audit, they will only get a score if these elements are included.

The responsible group will only lose a mark if they are directly responsible for the failure e.g. if there are 2 groups responsible (e.g. Nursing and Cleaning) for Element X and the element failed due to Nursing group, then Nursing will lose 1 mark, but Cleaning will retain the 1 score.

For a detailed example, download the Cleaning Score Breakdown report to show how many elements are in an audit and the score for each of the responsible groups.
